Clarity

1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? 3Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,4 lest my enemy say, I have prevailed over him, lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. 5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.6 I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.”

Mother Teresa was visited by a gentleman at the “House of the Dying” in Calcutta.  This man, who wanted to find a clear vision for the rest of his life, asked Mother Teresa to pray that he would “get clarity for the future.”  Mother Teresa said, “I will not do that… Clarity is the last thing you are clinging to and must let go.  I have never had clarity; what I have always had is trust.  So I will pray you trust God.”  Here’s what’s cool about passionately pursuing God… You never know what’s in store for you.  Better yet, you’re comfortable with the fact you don’t know what the future holds and you don’t care because you TRUST God.
